The third power in our series, “Bear Grills … The Powers” is with SEPP, the Social Eleu Progressive Party, who are campaigning on a strong platform for Explorers.

Cmdr Vantas’ Asp Explorer: ‘ESS Orinoco’
We were pleased to welcome CMDR Kancro Vantas, who arrived at the studios, perhaps unsurprisingly, in his Asp Explorer “ORINOCO”! The discussion ranged comfortably across the mass exploration project that was Distant Worlds, the pleasures of mining, and the limitations of AEDC and the Border Coalition as the natural power choice for Explorers.
However, the production crew were left rapidly searching out the studio’s stock of tin foil hats when the conversation turned to the risks and dangers of ‘what might be out there’.
Hear for yourself why CMDR Vantas and SEPP think you should be supporting their Community Goals during the Dangerous Games.
You can hear the bias of the commentator “Winston Jung” in his response. Not entirely objective.
The strength of SEPP is the fact that they can get things done with the limited resources available. They have been able to hold and increase their position with just “a hand-full” of dedicated Commanders. Since the announcements of the Dangerous games… Their active membership has increased from less then 10 to several hundred… This doesn’t even touch the number of other supporters in the various professions and services who have pledged to assist. in the upcoming community goals.
Labeling the Border Coalition.as the “Explorer’s Power” in your commentary does not make them so…
Bit of usurpation in spreading that tale… say it enough and maybe everyone will start to believe it’s actually true.
Yes, the BC have some supporters who have been with us on the Distant World’s expedition… but those few were a small percentage of the total number of Commanders making the trek.
Explorers will support who they do… and in the end, we’ll all go out again together.
When pressed for what would be offered to the exploration community, the best the BC Leadership could come up with was more efficient shipboard power plants. Later, they even stooped to “borrowing” another’s idea for a combined Advanced Discovery/Detailed Surface Scanner Module…
Winston does have a point though… Charisma. If the politicians of the galaxy have one thing SEPP does not… it’s that… “Promise them anything as long as they vote for us” slipperiness as part of their overall attitude. Not something most independent Commanders put a lot of faith into, if you ask me.
SEPP has no reason to change it’s stripes, make promises or even usurp an idea. And for good reason… as the “Them”, and “They” mentioned above is actually “Us”… And “We” don’t promise… Together, we just DO!
“Lead, Follow or Get Out of the Way”
Cmdr, Thank you for your response. If fairness, I think some of your points are also made by Cmdr Jung, however your counterpoints are also well made. I hope other Cmdrs read them – a variety of viewpoints ought to be welcome!
