The final interview, and possibly our most bizarre, in our series, “Bear Grills … The Powers” is with Galcop, the disputed aspirants to the mantle of the historical Galactic Co-operative of Worlds.
CMDR Kermit Laphroaig, leader of the Diamond Frogs, and spokesperson for the new Galcop, arrived at some point on Kempston Hardwick Station, but was only found wandering into synth-trees in MacEllen Park when we sent Izzy the intern out to find him. He was a little worse for … well worse for something.
We settled him in a chair in the studio, and when he work up 3 hours later, we began the interview.
It transpires that this new Galcop are the real good guys of the galaxy, helpful folks, providing a friendly, local, white man in a van service. Hear CMDR Laphroaig explain in his own words …
Izzy liked Kermit, and couldn’t see what all the fuss was about their questionable reputation in some quarters.
Cmdr Winston Jung, Emeritus Professor at the University of Kwatee, and our learned commentator on the aspiring powers, was more critical. Maintaining balance in his contribution was not a struggle for him on this occasion: because he never even tried – making plain from the start his distaste for this contender.
CMDR Jung has taken a vacation a long way away, just in case … Personally relying on the huge respect for the press corps, will simply slip off somewhere quiet in a slight disguise …well I was due a holiday.
